WARNING

We have had many recent reports by adopters that their Greyhounds have had very violent reactions to both DHLPP vaccinations and particularly LYME vaccinations. Reactions vary from Paralysis to Seizures and even DEATH . Due to this problem Forever Home is recommending that our adopters DO NOT allow their Greyhounds to be vaccinated with LYME VACCINE. Some of the Greys are also reacting negatively to the DHLPP vaccines, so please...

Click here for information about our preferred vaccination protocol.

Here is our Baby "NELSON" on October 20th at our clinic at The Warehouse in Albany with his new Forever Family. Eileen Elliott and her daughter drove all the way from Glen Burnie, Maryland to pick Nelson up. Eileen met and fell in love with NELSON on the beach at DEWEY 2007 when we all went to Greyhounds Reach The Beach. She tracked us down at Forever Home ,and arranged to adopt Nelson. It's another Happy Forever Home Ending.......!!

Dewey Beach 2007 was a huge success. The weather was perfect and the ocean water was warm enough to swim. Here are a few shots of the gorgeous beach. Lilly, and Nelson had a GREYT time even though Nelson was a tad nervous when he took his first dip in the Atlantic!!

Here are some pictures from the event, click for a larger view...

The turnout was great, and the weather cooperated much better this year. We would like to thank our hosts, Paul and June Sinicki for all of their help and the use of their yard.

Here is one of our hosts, Paul Sinicki, in the blue jeans.

The rowboat was a popular place to rest,
after running laps in the yard.

Here, we have an escape attempt.

Here are a few photos of our wonderful weekend at the GRAPEHOUND WINE TOUR 2007 at the beautiful FINGER LAKES region of NY. Keystone Greyhounds of Pennsylvania invited Forever Home to participate and we hosted an Ice Cream Social for the Greyhounds at the gorgeous Cayuga Ridge Winery.....ENJOY

Long Point Winery's new Website is up and quite amazing thanks to our son Anthony DeRado. Gary has done it again by winning Gold Medals for our Dry Riesling and Syrah. From what our customers tell us we can anticipate more Golds from our newly released Reserve Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Samantha and Spike would also like to tell their dog friends about the new line of organic gourmet dog treats by Serenity Pets products. With a $5 treat purchase we are offering $1 off Moon Puppy. During our Carnival Cook-Off event in June the wineries were part of a culinary competition sponsored by McCadam Cheese and we won for our scrumptious Vegetarian Muffaletta. Our prize is a one night stay in the beautiful Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles, what a treat. We have something for everyone so please visit. www.longpointwinery.com/

Thirsty Owl Wine Company & Bistro is celebrating its 5th Anniversary in 2007. In addition to our old vine Pinot Noir and Riesling, we have recently planted several new acres of Riesling as well as Pinot Grigio. Among the many medals earned this year, our ‘06 Diamond was awarded Gold in the Tasters Guild International and our ’06 Riesling took Silver in the prestigious L.A. International Competition. Exciting new estate grown red wines and red blends are coming this fall. www.thirstyowl.com/

Our greyhound event “Grapehound Wine Tour” co-sponsored with Keystone Greyhounds of Central Pennsylvania was a huge success with over 500 people and 400 dogs attending throughout the weekend of July 26th, 27th & 28th. The weekend began with a Welcoming Gathering at the two wineries on the East side of Cayuga Lake, King Ferry Winery and Long Point Winery. On Saturday and Sunday the west side wineries hosted the event with vendors selling everything from T-shirts, collars, and even clocks. Gigi pictured to your left is taking a well deserved snooze!  There were 8 different Adoption agencies represented at the event and part of the ticket proceeds will be donated on their behalf. The ice cream social at Cayuga Ridge Estate was a huge success with yogurt donated by Forever Home Greyhound Adoption of Middleburgh, NY for the dogs and heavenly ice cream for their owners. Another ice cream social was held on Sunday at Taughannock Falls State Park hosted by the Northeast Chapter of Greyhound Adoptions of Florida. This event is certainly geared towards greyhounds and their owners but what a remarkable sight.  Join us next year to see these docile, majestic animals.

We had a gorgeous day for our 2007 kickoff at INDIAN LADDER FARMS. Several adoptors and their hounds
came out to see us and to visit with the new Hounds that are looking for their Forever Home. Pictured are Paul
and June Sinicki, with their fur kids Delta, as well as Piper and Tom and Gisele Bush, with their fur kids Gemini
and Curt. It was a GREYT day and we hope to see many more friends at our upcoming events at INDIAN
LADDER FARM...... See our Events calendar for upcoming dates.

Here we have PLAYBOY with his buddy Riley on their
way home from a funfilled day at Indian Ladder Farms.
It is amazing what all that fresh air and sunshine can
do to a Greyhound!

We attended the SPRING DEWEY event this April 13-15, which included this fantastic Greyhound Ice Cream
Social, combined with a Birthday celebration for 2 lucky Greyhounds. There was Cake and Ice Cream for the
hounds, as well as festive party hats and lovely ruffled neckwear.

A whole bouquet of Greys arrived and a fantastic time was had by all on the upper deck of the ATLANTIC
OCEANSIDE HOTEL, right here in Dewey Beach Delaware, the same location as where the GREYHOUNDS
REACH THE BEACH event takes place each Columbus Day weekend in October...
